Dropbox vs Google Drive vs OneDrive and Copy DVD to Best Cloud Storage

Storing your files in the cloud has many advantages. You can view your files from any phone, tablet or computer that's connected to the Internet. If you copy DVD to Cloud Storage, you will be able to play DVD movies on iPhone 6S, Galaxy S7 and othert portable devices wirelessly via Cloud Storage. Popular Cloud Storage has Dropbox, Google Drive and OneDrive, etc but which one is the best for you to save DVD backups?

Here, we will compare the best 3 Cloud Stroge and tell you how to copy DVD to digital files to store on Cloud Storage.

Cloud storage comparison: Dropbox vs Google Drive vs OneDrive

OneDrive

First up is OneDrive, Microsoft's storage option. Those who use Windows 8 and 10 have OneDrive built into their operating system, where it shows up in the file explorer next to all of the files on your computer's hard drive. However, anyone can use it on the Web, by downloading a desktop app for Mac and earlier versions of Windows, or the OneDrive Android, iOS, Windows Phone and Xbox apps.

Where it excels

Works seamlessly with Windows devices because it's built in to the Windows operating system.
It's easy to open and edit files from OneDrive in Microsoft's other applications, such as Word or Excel.

Signing up for OneDrive gets you a Microsoft account, which gives you access to Outlook, Xbox Live, and other Microsoft services.

Where it falls flat

OneDrive's automatic file organization doesn't always put files in the correct folders.

Best for: If you have a Windows PC, tablet and phone, and need to get to your files from any device with little effort.

Dropbox

Dropbox is a favorite in the cloud storage world because it's reliable, easy to use, and a breeze to set up. Your files live in the cloud and you can get to them at any time from Dropbox's website, desktop applications for Mac, Windows and Linux (Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora or compile your own), or the iOS, Android, BlackBerry and Kindle Fire mobile apps.

Where it excels

Dropbox works equally well on PCs and Macs, Android and iOS.

The service is so simple and elegantly designed, that it's easy for anyone to master.

Its desktop applications seamlessly blend with your computer's file system.

Where it falls flat

Dropbox's website doesn't let you control how your files are displayed.

Best for: Simple sharing when you use tons of different kinds of devices.

Google Drive

Google combines a complete set of office tools with cloud storage in Drive. You get a little bit of everything with this service, including a word processor, spreadsheet application, and presentation builder, plus 15GB of free storage space.

Where it excels

Google Drive requires very little setup if you already have a Google account.

If you use Gmail, it's easy to save attachments from your e-mail directly to Drive with just a few clicks.

The app can automatically back up your photos on its own, without the need for the separate Google Photos app.

Where it falls flat

If you use Google Drive's tools to create documents, spreadsheets or presentations, you must export those files to edit them in another program.

You have to share your storage space with Gmail, so if you're inbox is overflowing, you'll get less cloud storage space.

Best for: Google diehards, or anyone who wants a few office tools with their cloud storage.

Copy DVD to Dropbox/Google Drive/OneDrive

To get the movies off DVD discs and onto Dropbox/Google Drive/OneDrive, you need a DVD to Cloud Storage converter. That is to say, you'll need a DVD-ripping utility that can remove the Content Scrambling System (CSS) or similar built-in protections that Pavtube ByteCopy for Windows (review)is highly recommended. This DVD ripping tool can rip any encrypted DVD and convert DVD, DVD IFO/ISO to MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV, etc popular formats. For the video size limit of Dropbox/Google Drive/OneDrive site, the built-in editor also allows you to extract DVD clips with the very part you want. Or, you can just choose to rip certain chapters of a DVD as you like. Mac users can turn to Pavtube ByteCopy for Mac.

Step 1. Load your DVDs.

Launch the DVD ripping software, click “Load from Disc” on the interface, and you can add any or your source discs. DVD disc, DVD ISO/IFO, Video-TS folder and Blu-ray are all supported.

Step 2. Choose output formats

The selection of output format depends on your specific need: If you only need to store your DVDs to Dropbox/Google Drive/OneDrive, you don’t need to consider about the format matter. If you plan to play DVD movies on iOS devices via Dropbox/Google Drive/OneDrive, simply choose Apple device compatible formats. If the quantity of DVDs to be saved is large, try to choose the output format with comparatively low quality (for small output size), and oppositely, choose the high quality. If you desire to play the converted DVDs on Android, iPad, iPhone, Samsung tablet, PS4, Xbox One/360, Roku and any of other portable device, you can choose HD MP4 simply.

Tip: Simply click Settings bar and you can tweak the settings to your satisfaction and even save it as preset. If you only have the free account of DropBox, you only have 2 GB of space. You’d better adjust the video settings to keep a balance of video size and video quality.

Step 3. Start Converting DVD to Dropbox/Google Drive/OneDrive

After the above three steps, go back to the main interface and click the “Convert” button to begin converting DVD movies to Dropbox/Google Drive/OneDrive highly compatible video files.

How to Put the Converted DVD Videos to Cloud Storage Device?

Once being converted to digital files, your DVD movie library can be stored/uploaded onto a server and streamed later for different uses. You can play the files directly online (but the Network speed is a deciding factor), and download them to local disks. Outstandingly, cloud service makes movies, music and photos more portable. Only if you have an online account, you can use the movies on your home PC, work PC and portable PC, stream it to an app, Chromecast, Smart TV, Roku player or a set-top box.
